Free Forum and Feature Friday

So I’ve done almost a full week of blogging. It’s hard to believe that I just came up with the concept of this site on Monday! I am loving this and am so glad I found my niche. I want to thank those that already follow me and support me!

Today I want to feature five of my favorite mommy blogs out there (In no particular order and if you didn’t make the list this week, please check back next week!)

Taste-Test Tuesday “Cake Bites”

I got this week’s recipe from DVO.com. I’m in the middle of making holiday cookies for at least 16 families. I love to bake and make cakes so I figured I’d give these a try.

Tasty Cake Bites

Makes 40-50 Cake Bites (I must have made some small balls, because I came up with a LOT more than that!)

Recipe by Kathy Oaks

1 devil’s food cake mix
3 eggs
1 1/4 cups water
1/2 cup oil
1/4 cup butter
6 ounces cream cheese
2 1/2 cups powdered sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla
Milk, enough to make a good frosting
Dipping chocolate

Directions:

Make cake according to directions on box and bake as directed. While baking mix together butter, cream cheese, powdered sugar, vanilla, and milk to make a frosting. When cake is done dump immediately into a large bowl with the cream cheese frosting (or store bought frosting) and mix it all together while still hot (it will be a little mushy). Refrigerate overnight. Roll into balls and dip in melted dipping chocolate. If balls are sticky I put them in freezer bags and flash freeze them until I’m ready to dip. They will freeze beautifully for months before they are dipped, just let them thaw for about 5 minutes before dipping to prevent cracking. Once cake bites are dipped do not refrigerate or freeze, just eat them!

*You can also use cream cheese frosting that you buy at the store.

**German chocolate cake mix mixed with german chocolate frosting and dipped in milk chocolate is also very tasty.

I had a bunch of balls leftover so I put them in a freezer bag to dip sometime in the future

If you try this recipe out, please rate it at the top of the recipe so that we can have a contest at the end of the year of the best recipes! 🙂

(someone please remind me next time to have laundry folded and put away before taking pics!) 🙂

Welcome to Frosted Fingers

I’m a mom of three who will be sharing recipes and stories with you. Here’s a quick layout of my week.

Menu Monday– I will upload my family’s menu for the coming week

Taste-Test Tuesday– I will feature a recipe that hopefully my kids will have helped me make

Wordless Wednesday– I’ll share my favorite picture of the week

Thirsty Thursday– A drink recipe to try

Free Forum Friday– I’ll share whatever I feel like 😛

I plan on finding the tools to make my recipes rateable so we can track the best recipe of all time. I’m hoping to have contests and giveaways as the blog progresses, too.

A special shoutout to Kristen of Kio Kreations for making my super logo!!
